Yale Undergraduate Research Conference (YURC)
For over a decade, the Yale Undergraduate Research Conference (YURC) has grown into the nation’s largest student-run undergraduate research conference. Each year, YURC brings together hundreds of presenters from across the world and across disciplines—engineering, social sciences, medicine, life sciences, physical sciences, and the humanities- to engage in interdisciplinary understanding and communication on an international scale right here on Yale’s campus.
Yale Undergraduate Research Journal (YURJ)
Established in 2020, the Yale Undergraduate Research Journal (YURJ) is Yale’s first peer-reviewed publication dedicated to showcasing the full breadth of undergraduate research. Published twice yearly both online and in print, YURJ features original work spanning the humanities, social sciences, and STEM.
Yale Undergraduate Mentorship Initiative (YUMI)
The Yale Research Mentorship Initiative (YRMI) is dedicated to making research accessible by connecting undergraduates—especially first-years and sophomores—with experienced student mentors. By bridging gaps across disciplines and experience levels, YRMI helps students explore opportunities, navigate their first research positions, and build confidence.
y/labs Research Database (YLABS)
YLABS is a joint initiative between YURA and the Yale Computer Society to build the first comprehensive, student-friendly database of Yale research opportunities. With over 1,400 faculty listings across 60+ fields of study in the humanities, social sciences, and STEM, y/labs makes it easier than ever for students to discover, connect with, and join research at Yale across all disciplines.
Yale Research Engagement Committee (YREC)
YREC focuses on building a culture of research that extends beyond the lab or library. The branch organizes community events like bluebooking sessions, faculty dinners, coffee chats, speaker events, and study breaks, while also running YURA’s newsletter and managing merch development. By partnering with Yale’s offices and student groups, YREC works to broaden access, create community, and support students from diverse backgrounds in fully engaging with the research experience.
